When we create a virtual tour, we always work "beyond the call of duty" to provide additional features. It may be offering some complimentary panoramas or a short track to connect the virtual tour to an existing virtual stroll. Or it may be starting a brand new project, as we did in Paros.
We had to create a virtual tour for an apartments complex on the east coast of Paros, located in a quiet setting between the village of Drios and the popular beach of Chrysi Akti (Golden Beach). How did we manage this project?
Usually, virtual tours are just a series of connected panoramas, hosted on Google or other specialized providers. As we publish an online tourist guide, we always go beyond this basic service...
So we created complimentary webpages to integrate the virtual tour in our website. This additional feature is free, our client paid only for the panorama shooting and post-processing.
The distance was short and required only 6 additional panoramas, so we offered them as a complimentary gift.
As all panoramas can be shared with a short link provided by Google, the client can now give a precious information to his guests.
First you continue on the dirt road to the entrance of another property, then you take a shortcut to the coastal path, then you go north and arrive at the beach.
Not so complicated to explain, but with a Street View track you just follow the arrows and you see that it's a nice walk.
So we created a Street View track along the beach, some 600 m long, to show how beautiful it is!
Moreover, other companies located in the area have now an opportunity to be featured in our global promotion system.
A few months before this 2018 shooting session, we had created a Street View track in Drios, showing the way from the main road to the beach.
So in May 2019 we connected the Drios and Chrysi Akti tracks along the coastal path!
And in the future... who knows? From Chrysi Akti we may extend the virtual stroll to Tserdakia (New Golden Beach) and from Drios to Pyrgos Cape and Lolantonis Beach... Or we could start new projects elsewhere!
Available time and local companies support are the only limits...
