Venthône

Together with its neighbours Miège and Veyras, Venthône forms the Noble-Contrée ('Noble Country'), a municipality above Sierre. It is a wine-growing village with panoramic views of the Valais Alps, and some fine, well-preserved medieval buildings.

Together with its neighbours Miège and Veyras, Venthône forms the Noble-Contrée ('Noble Country'), a municipality above Sierre. It is a wine-growing village with panoramic views of the Valais Alps, and some fine, well-preserved medieval buildings.

Situated at an altitude of 800 m halfway up the hillside on the southern slopes of the Bernese Alps, Venthône is a very sunny village with a very pleasant climate, between the coolness of the mountains and the heat of the plain.

With its impressive tower built between the 12th and 13th centuries and its 17th-century church, Venthône can be recognised from afar and is a great place to stroll through a beautiful architectural heritage.

A well-marked historical walk takes visitors on a journey of discovery through a rich past, with buildings from the feudal Middle Ages, religious buildings, noble and middle-class homes from the Baroque era, and rural houses and outbuildings.

With spectacular views to boot, it's sure to win your heart!
