Boutari Winery

Boutari is one of the most internationally known producers and a quality reference for Greek wines. One of its 7 wineries is located in Santorini, right next to the village of Megalochori.

Five other wineries are located in Naoussa (Macedonia, west of Thessaloniki), Mantinia (Peloponnese, north of Tripoli), Kantza (Attica, east of Athens), Goumenissa (Macedonia, north-west of Thessaloniki) and near Skalani (Crete, south-east of Heraklion). The 6th one is in France.

The Santorini winery mainly produces white wines from the local grape varieties Assyrtiko, Athiri and Aidani, cultivated in a vineyard of 6 hectares.

The winery is open to the public every day from 10am to 6pm. The tastings are accompanied by local dishes and a multimedia show allows to discover the history of the island and of the revival of its vineyards.

To get there with your own vehicle, take the road that leads to the south of the island (direction Akrotiri and Perissa). Continue until Megalochori and, just after the village, a signpost on your right indicates the small road that leads to the winery.
