Ollon bears witness to the history of winegrowing in the Valais in the 20th century through its Chemin des Pressoirs ("Trail of the Wine Presses"), a trail through the narrow streets of the village with 9 educational panels presenting the history of the winegrowing village.
It's a little-known village: you won't find it neither on Wikipedia, apart from a simple mention on the page devoted to Chermignon, nor even in the Historical Dictionary of Switzerland.
It lies on the first slopes of the mountain, at an altitude of 635m, but is part of the municipality of Crans-Montana, the famous tourist destination that lies at an altitude of almost 1500m. Needless to say, on the official website of the tourist office, Ollon is virtually ignored, except of course for its "Chemin des Pressoirs".
Ollon is not on a major road, but it is very easy to get to. The village is located on a road that crosses the vineyards, starting on the road that climbs to Lens from Granges and ending near Corin, on the road linking Sierre to Crans-Montana.
If you like to get off the beaten track and are interested in oenology, don't hesitate to take a tour!
